Breach notification clock

Answer four questions and see every reporting deadline that applies to you, with the clause that sets each one.

Your situation

1. Where is your company incorporated?
2. Which rules apply to you?
Your local time. CERT-In counts from the moment you notice it or are told about it.
CERT-In applies whether or not personal data is involved; the privacy laws apply only when it is.

Nothing you enter leaves your browser.

Your deadlines

Enter when you became aware of the incident and tick the rules that apply.

How the clock counts

Hours are clock hours, not working hours, and run through weekends and holidays. CERT-In counts from when you notice the incident or are told about it; DPDP and GDPR count from when you become aware. Rule 7 lets the Board allow a longer period for the full DPDP report on a written request; the clock shows the default. A deadline that has passed is shown in red with how long ago it fell. The DPDP clock applies from 13 May 2027; before that date it shows what the Rules will require.
